Each necklace captures the magic of ocean treasures, featuring delicate impressions of crustaceans or shells. Adorned with shimmering pearls or opals, these necklaces let you carry a reminder of underwater wonders wherever you go. Choose your favorite and wear a story from beneath the waves.

How to care for your Ethiopian opal:

Ethiopian Opals are "hydrophane", this means that they absorb water and when they do their appearance changes. If the Opals come in contact with water, they will soak it up it like a sponge. If the Opals are submerged in water and allowed to absorb it, they may lose their fire temporarily. The fire and color should come back once the opals have fully dried, this can take a day to a few weeks, depending on how much water they absorbed.

Materials
  • Settings: n/a
  • Backplate: n/a
  • Accents: fine silver and 24 karat gold dusting
  • Band/Chain: 14 karat gold fill

This piece was made by hand using fine silver, .925 sterling silver, 14 karat gold fill and 24 karat gold using an ancient bonding technique called Keum Boo. Here are the care instructions for your new jewelry piece.

About RSJ

All of my jewelry is crafted with intention in my small studio located in Northern California. Due to my pieces being handmade, they are perfectly imperfect, all one of a kind, and unique just like you. All orders are packaged with care in eco-friendly packaging.

Care Instructions

DO
  • Clean your jewelry regularly using warm water to wash and a soft cloth to pat dry.
  • Gently wipe your piece with a jewelry polishing, non-scratch cloth every now and then to promote shine. Find them here:
https://risingsunjewelry.com/products/rsj-polishing-cloth-1?_pos=1&_psq=polishing&_ss=e&_v=1.0
(These are complimentary and can be added by selecting this option on any product page)
  • Store your jewelry in an air tight container (a bag will work just fine) in a low humidity environment.
DON’T
  • Do not wear your jewelry in the ocean or swimming pools, the salt water and chlorine can cause damage.
  • Don’t wear your jewelry when cleaning. Exposure to heavy detergents and cleaning agents can be detrimental.
  • Perfume, hairspray and hand lotions may tarnish your jewelry due to the harsh chemicals they contain, these should not be worn when wearing your jewelry (a possibility would be to put on your jewelry AFTER you use these products).
